Setting Up Google Docs

Come grow with us as we enter the world of Google!

Step by step instructions for logging in:
1) Choose a browser: locate the Google Chrome Icon on your desktop or in the shortcut bar at the bottom of your screen.
It should look something like this:

2) It may ask you to log into your google account, ignore it. In the address bar of chrome which is located in the top portion, type in the URL (this is the web address for google doc):
3) You will see a YRDSB Google Doc login page that looks like this:

*** If you see an error message that says "An error occurred and single sign-on could not complete." Go to the address box and type google.yrdsb.ca again. ***
4) Log in with the login name and password that you would use to log onto any computers in the school.  This is not necessarily your board email password or your mxweb password (They could be the same if you have it set up that way)

5) If you see a screen with a create button and the YRDSB logo in the top left corner, YOU DID IT! The screen should look similar to this (without all the files):

Congratulations!!!  You are officially on Google Drive! (Basically the home page of Google Docs) Your screen will look slightly different because you haven't created any docs yet. But if you click on Shared with me, you should be able to see some Docs that your friends have already shared with you.



Now, you can decide where you would like to start by clicking on the taps above my blog/web page beside the "home" button. Try creating a document to start. Click on the "How to create a google document" tap up top.

The possibilities are endless!
